10.00 – Moseley Village and St Mary’s Row
Ray Tier will lead a circular walk along Alcester Road, St Mary’s Row, Church Road and Woodbridge Road covering the history of buildings past and present, transport and the railway. (45 minutes)
11.30 and 3.30 – The “Blitz sights” of Moseley
Following from his well-received talk on “Bomb Alley” Ian Binnie will lead a walk visiting the site of buildings that were destroyed or damaged during the raids of 1940-41, as well as buildings that were used by the military or civil authorities. Ian will also recount some of the moving human stories from those difficult times. (1 hour – no more than a mile and a half).
2.00 – Moseley Hall, Dovecote, Park & Pool
Ray Tier will lead a walk up the Alcester Road from the Park& Pool to the Dovecote covering the history of the Moseley Hall estate, its subsequent development and buildings on route. (45 minutes)

10.00 to 4.00 – Edith Holden’s life and flowers
Rachel Smith-Chopra will present a display on the life of Moseley resident Edith Holden, naturalist, writer and illustrator, showing some of the plants featured in her book, The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady
Walk in Moseley Bog, from Yardley Wood Road entrance B13 9JX
1.00 – “The Flora of Moseley Bog and Joy’s Wood”
The walk will be led by Emeritus Professor Ian Trueman, former Professor of Plant Ecology at Wolverhampton University, co-author Flora of Birmingham & the Black Country, 2013, and pioneer of ‘hay strewing’ to create wildflower meadows. To protect the sensitive meadows where we will be walking, numbers are limited to 20 and you need to book first via mosbogfriends@gmail.com
