lou atkin
Lou Atkin – Chair

Lou Atkin is Chair of Moseley Community Development Trust. After moving to Moseley, she found a warm welcome and supportive workspace at Moseley Exchange, which inspired her to become involved in the Trust’s development.

With a career in youth and community work, Lou is passionate about creating inclusive, connected communities and is proud to support an organisation that plays such an important role in local life.

Neil Ramage – Treasurer

Neil oversees the Trust’s financial affairs, ensuring resources are managed effectively and transparently. A qualified chartered accountant and long-time Moseley resident, he brings valuable financial expertise and a strong commitment to supporting the local community.

Austin Barber – Trustee

Austin is a lecturer and planning specialist at the University of Birmingham, where he helped establish the MSc Urban and Regional Planning programme.

A trustee since 2006, he leads on planning and regeneration matters for MCDT and chairs the Moseley Regeneration Group. Austin is passionate about community-led development and has played a key role in shaping plans for Moseley’s future.

Becky Jones Owen – Trustee

Becky began her career in the music industry before moving into broadcasting and communications, spending many years working for the BBC.

She now works as a freelance communications consultant and Associate Lecturer at Birmingham City University and the University of Worcester. Becky is also active in local voluntary organisations and brings a wealth of communications, events and governance experience to the Board.

Eleni Kyriacou – Trustee

Eleni is an Executive Producer, Director and cultural consultant with more than 20 years’ experience in arts and cultural programming.

A Moseley resident, she became involved with MCDT through delivering community arts projects at Moseley Hive. Eleni brings extensive experience in creative leadership, partnership development and cultural engagement, helping to strengthen the Trust’s role as a hub for creativity and community connection.

Gerv Havill – Trustee

Gerv joined the Board in 2023. He is Director of Mission Print and has extensive experience in event production through his work with the Moseley Folk Festival and Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival.

Having lived in Moseley since 1990, Gerv has strong local connections and is committed to supporting the Trust’s work through his expertise in business, design and community events.

Katherine Hewitt – Trustee

Katherine has over a decade of senior leadership experience in the voluntary and community sector. She is Co-Director and Executive Director of Women & Theatre and previously served as Chief Executive of Gateway Family Services CIC.

With a background in community development and organisational leadership, Katherine brings valuable strategic insight and a strong commitment to improving opportunities for local communities.

Paul Williams – Trustee

Paul is a long-standing trustee, tenant and Moseley resident with a strong commitment to the local community. He leads on property matters for the Trust, bringing practical knowledge and experience to the stewardship and development of MCDT’s buildings and spaces.

Paul plays an important role in supporting the organisation’s long-term sustainability and growth.
