The Coffin Works

One of our members, a regular volunteer, writes “This small independently funded museum in the Jewellery Quarter, has had to close due to the COVID-19 virus.  It plans to re-open when the dangers have passed but with no regular income, things are going to be difficult. They have already put 3 part-time members of staff on furlough, keeping just the Museum Manager in post. In an attempt to keep some money coming in to cover just keeping the collection safe, the staff have put together various ways people can help.  These include a crowdfunding page that can be found here.   They are also selling on-line vouchers for future entry into the museum and gifts.  If you have never visited the museum or want to make a return visit, please consider either donating on the crowdfunding page or buying a voucher for a visit once we are all allowed out again.  It will give you something to look forward to and help preserve a small piece of Birmingham’s industrial history.”
