Donating Computers for Schoolwork

Throughout the lockdowns, many children have struggled to take part in their education, as many families do not have access to suitable computers or technology to attend video-lessons or complete schoolwork. If you have a spare computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, there are ways to donate it to help struggling families.

The Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP) is coordinating local donations: the minimal specifications of the IT equipment they accept, and instructions on how to donate are given on the Donation Form here.  More information about the BEP campaign can be read here, and their Just Giving page is here, if you’d like to make a monetary donation.

The BBC is running a similar campaign accepting donations of IT equipment, and can be seen here.

Your device could make a difference to a child or young person’s education and future!
