Pavement Prayers at St Mary’s Churchyard

“This summer we are hosting a community art project in the churchyard at St Mary’s.

Pavement Prayers is a weekly reflective and interactive chalk drawing. Each week will have a new focus (task sheets are left in the churchyard) and we want to invite everyone in the community to come and reflect (this week you can walk our giant labyrinth) or better yet bring their own chalk and add to the drawings. All you need to do is follow the arrows into the churchyard.

Week 1. Theme: What is Prayer?
Reflect: walk the labyrinth and think about what prayer means to you.
Create: bring chalk with you, find a stone, colour it with chalk and leave it in the centre of the labyrinth.

You’ll find further instructions, including a challenge to create your own labyrinth, in the churchyard.”
Please respect the churchyard and observe social distancing.
