When we see someone who may be sleeping rough, and/or asking for money, we feel concerned, particularly in the winter months, and even more so during the coronavirus lockdown. We may want to give whatever we have on hand, but this often isn’t the best way to ensure lasting help.
If you see someone sleeping rough, please report this to StreetLink online, or by calling 0300 500 0914.
The details you provide are sent to the local authority or outreach service for the area in which you have seen the person, to help them find the individual and connect them to support.
If you’d like to donate money towards helping local people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, please consider supporting local schemes such as our own Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign (MAGC). Donating to local schemes, rather than giving money to individuals directly, helps provide ongoing individualised support.
