Have a grab bag ready

One of our members has sent this very helpful, practical advice, gathered from personal experience. It’s sensible advice for us all, but especially for anyone who knows the chance of them having to be admitted to hospital in an emergency is high:

Have a bag packed at the ready containing:

  • A change of clothes
  • Washable slippers
  • All toiletries including a couple of days normal medication, carefully labelled
  • Towel
  • Water bottle
  • A cereal-bar, packet of oatcakes or something similar.
  • Mobile charger
  • Possible reading matter to divert from total melancholy!
  • A list of your critical health details with your wishes regarding CPR. Make sure this is signed and dated.

Even if you are only admitted for a short stay, on return strip and wash all items which have been to the hospital.
