Carols on the Doorstep is asking the whole nation to raise some much-needed Christmas cheer this year.
When? Wednesday, December 16th, 6pm
Where? Your doorsteps!
How? Sing along with the radio!
With massed gatherings, lights switch-ons and town centre carols events cancelled across the land, there’s a risk that Christmas 2020 could be very quiet… Join in on your doorsteps across the nation this Christmas to sing carols together and spread some much-needed cheer! Carols on the Doorstep started in Shropshire but is spreading nationally as more local radio stations come on board. BBC Radio West Midlands will be promoting the event, with more details here, including the carol sheet here and the poster here to invite your neighbours to join in!
Carols on the Doorstep has chosen to support the mental health charity Mind. It’s been a tough year for so many, and many more are feeling vulnerable at this time and in need of their services. Carols on the Doorstep ask you to kindly consider donating a suggested £2 each before you sing, to help support the valuable work of this organisation. Help support Mind as they support others this year by donating through JustGiving, here.
Most importantly: “Stay safe, obey the rules where you are, wave at your neighbours and friends, and belt out those carols knowing people across the country will be singing along too!”
