Statement from the Friends of Moseley Bog & Joy’s Wood:
“There have been a number of incidents in Moseley Bog & Joy’s Wood Nature Reserve relating to groups of male cyclists cycling around the Reserve, particularly on the boardwalks, not respecting the requirement for 2 metre spacing and showing no consideration to pedestrians.
The Police have been advised and they have asked that any similar incidents are reported to them immediately.
Groups of cyclists have also been observed gathered round the former performance area ignoring distancing rules.
The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country who manage the Nature Reserve will be putting up posters in the next few days reminding users of the Reserve to follow social distancing rules and asking cyclists to dismount and show consideration to other users.
In the meantime I would request that all users of the Nature Reserve respect the rules but also be aware of the potential risk from cyclists flouting the rules.”
