Do you have a spare room? It could change a life!
The charity Standing Tall works with responsible businesses to create stable jobs for people going through tough times, including those who have experienced homelessness, enabling them to move forwards and thrive.
To be able to move off the street, it’s not just about the job; an individual needs a safe home to come home to at the end of the day. The Standing Tall “Amici” accommodation service provides a safe home and a listening ear as the individual transitions away from the street.
If you have a spare room, and would welcome an individual into your home, you could become a Standing Tall “Amici”, from the Italian for “friends”. Being an Amici is a paid role, with Standing Tall providing the necessary induction, support and training. As a trained and supported Amici, you would be protected for all eventualities under the insurance Standing Tall has in place. An individual can stay with an Amici for 3 to 6 months before they are ready to move on to their own accommodation.
You can find out more about the Amici role on Standing Tall’s website here.
