Coronavirus Update 24.03.21

Birmingham City Council’s latest coronavirus update can be seen here and their dashboard of Covid-19 information for the week ending 19th March can be seen here.

The impact of the national lockdown continues to reduce case numbers. The percentage of positive tests and the overall rate of cases has fallen, although testing rates have slightly decreased this week. Across Birmingham’s hospitals, average daily Covid admissions has fallen to around 23 new cases a day; this is really positive and shows that lockdown and vaccination are saving lives.

Total cases for this week have dropped once again. There was a slight (20%) increase in cases in the 0-19 age group, but a drop in cases for all other age groups. Moseley’s case rate has dropped by 9% since the previous fortnight.
