As we head into another lockdown, with many people feeling isolated, Women & Theatre’s Community Performance Club are keen to spread the word about their next course which people aged 50+, and carers (men & women), can take part in via Zoom.
You don’t need any drama experience – or even be confident speaking in front of a group. Women & Theatre (W&T) create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere to benefit everyone, and they can help you to use Zoom if you’re unfamiliar or lack confidence using technology.
This project is particularly targeting people living in Brandwood and surrounding areas of south Birmingham, however whilst working on Zoom, W&T are happy to recruit from across Birmingham.
Throughout 2020, W&T ran community comedy courses, which participants really enjoyed – benefitting from the escapism of doing something creative in the moment, and spending time with others. People reported increased confidence, participation, sense of purpose, emotional wellbeing and sense of community.
The next course starts on Monday 18th January and will focus on creative ways of developing drama over Zoom. See the Community Performance Club flyer here for more details. The course is free to attend and you can sign up by calling 07849 214 799 or emailing email@example.com
