It seems that some of our neighbours are using their time at home to have bonfires. This is causing real harm to some, especially anyone who has respiratory problems, including asthma, as well as annoyance to people wanting to open their windows now that spring is at last arriving, enjoy their gardens, let their children play outside, dry the washing.
Please can you spread this message round your local groups via WhatsApp etc. and try to persuade people not to have garden bonfires, or, if they must, to do it as quickly as possible in the evening.

You can report air pollution caused by garden bonfires here although it seems unlikely that it will be possible for the Council to respond at present. So polite advice from neighbours seems the best hope. If you want some evidence to support your case when approaching neighbours, you can find some here.
